"In early 2007, we contracted with Clear Medical Solutions to provide consulting and management for our Health Information Management (HIM) department and our Revenue Cycle Management. As soon as our onsite coordinator (Mr. Biebert) arrived on scene, his quick assimilation and knowledgeable support allowed me to work on other pressing demands, such as our pending EMR implementation.
After the first month, we had a noticeable improvement in our staff productivity and a marked decline in Accounts Receivable days outstanding. After the first three months, Coding was done in 5 days, Transcription turnaround times were being noticed and praised by the medical staff, and our A/R Days were near the lowest in our peer group. Our compliance gaps were closed, and staff morale was at an all time high.
One thing that I want to stress is that {Mr. Biebert}, as the consultant, not only worked very cooperatively with me as the CFO in identifying issues and developing a strategy to meet the needs, but he also did the necessary work needed to complete the challenges, as well.
Enjoying their services, we began using other consultants as needed, and were equally impressed with their consulting philosophy. I never was given a big binder with things to fix, I never was required to spend significant time with them, and all of my concerns were analyzed, fixed, and supported in real time...my first stress free consulting experience.
Needless to say, we were very impressed, and continue to retain their team at the hospital today in multiple roles: HIM management, Revenue Cycle consulting, Clinical Laboratory consulting, and other miscellaneous things as needed. I have worked with a lot of consultants in my career, and this team is second to none. I highly recommend not only their company, but their philosophy as well.
